Enrichment ideas

I am shouting out for ideas for enrichment night. It is focusing on financing, balancing your monthly budget, etc. Any of you have any great ideas you have heard, tried, or been taught? You can even include the ones you tried and failed at!! Traci I know you have something going on with your plastic bags labeled with money in them in your purse, a little insight please. I mean I get the idea but is there more info I can give others on that one? I also need some little activity to show the point, a hands on idea.

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT ANY GOOD BUDGETING IDEAS. BUT SOMETHING YOU CAN MENTION, AND MAYBE EVERYONE KNOWS THIS, BUT WALMART WILL AD MATCH. SO LIKE IF SAFEWAY HAS MILK FOR $2, THEN YOU CAN GO TO WALMART AND GET IT FOR THE SAME PRICE. SO YOU CAN DO ALL YOUR SHOPPING IN ONE PLACE AND GET SALE PRICES FROM OTHER STORES THERE. YOU CAN SAVE ALOT OF DOUGH!

No budgeting skills here either. I listen to Dave Ramsey on the radio and he has a ton of finacial advice. Maybe you could look him up on the internet. One thing that I do is when I go to the store, I kind of have an idea what I am going to fix for meals and snacks and pick it all up at once. Then I am not running to the store everyday for the things I need. The less time I spend in Wal-mart the better on my budget!! Good luck

The best budgeters that I know make a menu, make list from it, go into the store and stick to the list. One guy on a TV show suggested to shop the perimeter of the store (for the freshest foods) and avoid the middle aisles (other than frozen section). That keeps yo in the foods that are healthiest and avoid all the junk foods (he called them food type products) that cost mucho without much nourishment.

o.k...the baggie budget. The bills I pay on-line or write a check for(mortgage and tithing) i leave in the bank. Then i have catagories..groceries/toiletries, wife fuel, husband fuel, wife hobbies, husband hobbies, entertainment, christmas, birthdays, auto service, kids lunches, etc. whatever specific categories you may have. I label a zipper baggie with the category and $ amount to allow for a 2 week period. I do this for each category. Go to the bank with total...including how many $50,s, $20,s, etc. Put the specific amounts in each baggie. The idea/point behind this method is to NOT swipe your debit card at all through the 2 weeks....so you are less likely to grab things you don't need at walmart, eat out less, etc. it makes you stay within a budget.i'll email you the budget sheet that goes along with this.

i forgot to add that i punch holes in the tops of the baggies and put metal rings through them to keep them all together. pretty attractive wallet. everyone will want one.

the 2 week menu idea....sit down and decide what your dinners will be for the next two weeks. make a grocery list of all the items you will need and only get what is on the list. helps with budget, and what i mostly like is knowing that i already KNOW what we're going to have for dinner each night instead of wondering what to fix!

Kodi, I need you to share the budget ideas you get from your friends. I don't any ideas for you but we had a Super Saturday recently and made some cute things that your ladies might enjoy. They were all simple and fast. See my blog for pictures.
